I don't have an xbox to take pretty pictures off of cause mine is brokened ]= my graphics card/chip has fried or died or whatever and so i'll do this from memory [=
Anyways... when you first get your xbox and you wonder why it won't work or whatever with xbox live it's because it's not connected to a network yet... on your dashboard go all the way to the right and down to the third option and it'll say "edit settings" click "A" and move your left joystick all the way to the bottom and click "A" [i think it says something like networks... or something like that] it'll load and then wireless networks [if you're connected to a wireless router.... or have a neighbor with one... hehe] they should pop-up... click on whichever one is yours or neighbor's... more than one may show up... if you're connected through a repeater [which boosts the router signal] it may say that there is a duplicate network and when you click on your network you'll get a pop-up on the right saying that there is a duplicate network yadda yadda yadda and only option there is to click "OK" if you're signed in it will ask you to sign out in order to test xbox live now if it fails anything don't get mad lol as long as the network passes everything else is pretty much an easy fix... if the IP fails and it's on "auto" then you need to take note of your subnet mask and take note of the gateway that it shows you while it's on auto also take note in the way the IP is showed... this is important ! after you write them down you switch the configuration from automatic to manual... then you put the IP that you wrote in it should look like this or similar to this "192.168.1.254" the subnet should look something like this "255.255.255.0" and the gateway something like this "192.168.1.1" this is different depending on your router settings and the type of router you have... you want to make sure to change the last 3 digits of the IP so after the last dot... such as this: "192.168.1.5" when you click done it'll bring you back to "test xbox live" keep in mind that if your DNS is on auto as well then when you test through again it'll fail the DNS so before you let it test to fail just hit "X" and go back down to the bottom and click "A" on edit settings and put the DNS as [well mine is] "192.168.1.1" yours will be different it could also be "192.168.0.1" or something like that.... after you've done that your xbox live should pass if it doesn't and fails at say ICMP [which takes forever to go through so be patient] or xbox live you just have to change the last numbers after the last dot... any number between 2-254... 1 is used by the router... if the IP number is already in use when the IP test scans through it will say that the IP failed and that the IP is being used by something else... then just change the number again... -side note- if your NAT is closed and you don't know the password settings for the router or you don't want to risk messing up router settings or you're lazy there's a quick fix to NAT issues just change the IP... yup that's it... if your NAT says "moderate" then just change the last number after the last dot to a different number and presto... you NAT should read "open" you can now join people's parties that you couldn't before Halo 3 is nice about this... it tells you your NAT status... Halo 2 on the other hand does not tell you... just if you were able to join someone's party before and you can't now for no reason then your NAT is probably "moderate" or "strict" hope this helps !!! Some of the RAs have mentioned that Wireless has been added to Laulima, but i am not able to find the signal. Has it actually been activated? or is it still in the process?

I have a new wireless card in my ebox server that I want to use as an AP. I have the driver source for it but can't figure out how to compile it because the kernel has l7filter installed. Do I compile with a non-l7 linux-headers- or is there some other method I have to follow?
